Nutrient iOS SDK 26.7 is a small reliability release focused on improving form interaction and stability in complex documents such as building plans. It continues our long-term work to improve user interface (UI) responsiveness in demanding document workflows.

This release also includes additional reliability fixes across content editing, rendering, annotations, and Instant collaboration. For the full list of changes, see the changelog.

We’re also planning to drop support for iOS 16 in Nutrient iOS SDK 26.9 in May 2026, so now is a good time to plan that transition if your app still supports older devices.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26.3 adds fractional input for measurement scales. Read on for details.

We’re continuing a long-term project to improve user interface (UI) responsiveness and performance in complex documents. This release includes three improvements in this area, including speeding up opening documents when using automatic double-page mode, which is especially noticeable in documents with tens of thousands of pages.

Our 26.3 release contains several fixes including addressing the eraser sometimes appearing to not erase after scrolling back to a page. For the full list, see the changelog.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26.2 adds on-device AI Assistant using Foundation Models.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26.2 adds on-device AI Assistant using Foundation Models!

We shipped our first version of AI Assistant on iOS in Nutrient iOS SDK 14.6 in March this year. By connecting to our separate AI Assistant server product, AI Assistant lets users ask questions about documents with a natural language chat interface. When Apple announced Foundation Models in June, we started an ambitious project to reimplement the AI pipeline of AI Assistant entirely on the device using the large language model from Foundation Models. However the large language model itself is only a small part of what’s needed to build AI-powered chat. We spent a lot of time handling the context window of Apple’s model so that this feature works in documents with huge numbers of pages.

We’re excited to have this feature out so you can try it. The best thing about on-device AI Assistant is how simply this feature can be added to your app. Just add `AIAssistantButton` (SwiftUI) or `aiAssistantButtonItem` (UIKit) to your toolbar.

You don’t even need Xcode to take on-device AI Assistant for a spin, since it’s available in our PDF Viewer app on the App Store. (Make sure your device has Apple Intelligence enabled.)

You can read more in our on-device AI Assistant guide. We also have a guide comparing AI Assistant server and on-device AI Assistant to help you choose the best option for you. We’re continuing to invest heavily in AI Assistant server, as it provides the most advanced AI capabilities; however, on-device AI Assistant is a more streamlined version of this feature that’s easier to get started with.

On-device AI Assistant is a new license component for Nutrient iOS SDK. Get in touch if you’d like to try this or have any questions. We really appreciate your feedback.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26.1 is a small update with fixes for various issues. We’re hard at work adding on-device AI Assistant using Foundation Models.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26.1 is a small update with fixes for various issues. This follows on from our big release for iOS 26 last month. For a future release, we’re hard at work adding on-device AI Assistant using Foundation Models — more details below.

If you’re updating from a version before Nutrient iOS SDK 26, read our release notes for that version for details about compatibility with Xcode 26 and the new design in iOS 26.

Building on our iOS 26 design update, Nutrient iOS SDK 26.1 improves the search bar appearance when search is active in the annotation list, outline view, and document picker.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26 is a compatibility release ready for iOS 26, macOS 26, visionOS 26, and Xcode 26.

Nutrient iOS SDK 26 is a compatibility release ready for iOS 26, macOS 26, visionOS 26, and Xcode 26. Both the old and new designs are supported, and this release works back to iOS 16, macOS 13, and visionOS 1.

Following our version numbering system, this annual release is an easy upgrade. Changing the half modal style is no longer necessary, and two advanced toolbar appearance APIs no longer have an effect when using the new design, but otherwise, there are no breaking changes.

To simplify knowing which version of Nutrient should be used with which version of Xcode and iOS, we’ve matched Apple’s numbering jump by going from Nutrient iOS SDK 14.x to 26.x. That said, our 26.1 release won’t be synced with iOS 26.1 or Xcode 26.1 because our four-week release cadence may not match Apple’s.

Nutrient iOS SDK 14.12 is a small release while our attention is focused on preparing for iOS 26 next month. We’re excited to have bigger updates soon!

We’re continuing our long-term project to improve UI responsiveness when working with documents with highly detailed vector drawings like building plans. In 14.12, we made an improvement when viewing such documents containing links and other annotations.

This release contains several other fixes. For the full list of changes, see our changelog.
