# How to assign and share dashboards Assigning dashboards to users or groups is accomplished through Workflow Automation Roles. First, create a role at the dashboards level by selecting the **Set Roles & Permissions** menu option.![Screen_Shot_2017-04-10_at_2.59.14_PM.png](https://help7.integrify.com/hc/article_attachments/115009733088/Screen_Shot_2017-04-10_at_2.59.14_PM.png) It’s best practice to create a new general role for users that has the permission to run the dashboard. By first creating this role at the dashboards level, you can then use this role for any new dashboard you create and assign members to this role for each specific dashboard. By doing this, you don’t need to recreate the role for each dashboard; it’ll be available for each dashboard’s list of roles where you can then add members to it. Select the dashboard from your list of dashboards that you want to assign users or groups to by clicking the **Permissions** shield icon.![Screen_Shot_2017-04-10_at_4.03.12_PM.png](https://help7.integrify.com/hc/article_attachments/115009737448/Screen_Shot_2017-04-10_at_4.03.12_PM.png) You’ll see the top dashboards level roles that were previously created. Selecting the **Back** option will also save your member definitions. Whichever user or group is assigned to this dashboard will now have access to it in their tabs when they log in to Workflow Automation. ## Shared dashboard links If you’d like to share a dashboard with a user who doesn’t access or to a non-user, you can use the **Links** icon in the upper-right corner of the **Dashboard Layout** screen.![dashboard links](@/assets/guides/workflow-automation/files/1102/links-icon.700x0-is.png) Clicking the **Links** icon will give you a pop-up window with two link options.![copy share links](@/assets/guides/workflow-automation/files/1102/copy-dashboard-links.png) 1. The first link option will take whoever clicks the link into the Workflow Automation portal and display the dashboard. 2. The second link option will open the dashboard in a standalone window.
