# Volunteer request

This process can be downloaded and imported into your Workflow Automation instance. The downloadable JSON file is at the bottom of this page. Volunteers make a difference in our communities, and this process gives individuals an opportunity to volunteer for your organization.

The volunteer can begin their request by entering their personal information, their task preferences, an emergency contact, and a release/waiver. Once completed, the request will be routed to a volunteer coordinator who can send it back for more information or move it to the background check phase. Once the background check is done, the requester will get a notification whether they passed or failed. If they passed, the scheduling coordinator will be notified that a new volunteer has been approved and needs assignment.
