DWS Accessibility API uses monthly, plan-based quotas.
How pricing works
Plans are based on remediation volume and include the quota categories below:
- Auto-tagged pages quota — Number of pages you can process through PDF/UA auto-tagging in each billing period.
- Validation quota — Number of validation operations included in each billing period.
What counts toward quota
Quota usage is tracked by operation type:
- Each successful auto-tagging request consumes quota based on processed content.
- Validation activity is tracked separately from auto-tagging.
If you hit your limits
With pay-as-you-go enabled, reaching your quota doesn’t have to stop your remediation pipeline. Once you exceed your quota, overage pages are billed in configurable increments, up to a spending cap you control. On the free plan, the default monthly cap is $50 (maximum $500); on paid plans, the default cap is half your monthly subscription value. We never charge beyond the cap.
Your included quota — free or paid — is always used first. Enabling pay-as-you-go on a paid subscription costs nothing to turn on; on a free plan, enabling it starts with a $25 wallet load, charged to your credit card. When you reach the cap, the API blocks additional requests in that category until one of the events below occurs:
- The next billing cycle starts.
- You raise the cap or move to a larger plan.
You control the spending cap, top-up increment, and reload threshold in your dashboard. For ongoing production volume, a paid plan usually costs less per unit. Use the free plan with pay-as-you-go when you need a short bridge past the free quota — for example during a POC — and move to a plan when usage is steady.
Choosing a plan
Estimate monthly volume with the factors below:
- Average number of documents remediated per month.
- Average pages per document.
- QA and validation needs.
