Updating DocuVieware
DocuVieware releases include version updates that add features and fix issues. Keep your installation up to date to benefit from the latest improvements and bug fixes.
Update types
DocuVieware uses semantic versioning (major.minor.patch):
- Major updates — Significant new features and architectural changes. May require license renewal.
- Minor updates — New features and improvements. Free for licensed customers.
- Patch updates — Bug fixes and security updates. Free for licensed customers.
Update process
To update DocuVieware to the latest version:
- Back up your current DocuVieware configuration and any customizations.
- Download the latest version from the downloads page.
- Close any applications using DocuVieware.
- Run the installer to update your installation.
- Rebuild and redeploy your application if necessary.
- Verify the update by checking the version number in your application.
Licensing after updates
Minor and patch updates are free for licensed customers. Your existing license key continues to work after these updates.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after updating:
- Verify your license key is still valid for the new version.
- Clear your browser cache if using DocuVieware in a web application.
