14.4.4 release notes

Nutrient .NET SDK 14.4.4 adds PowerPoint templating and Instant JSON annotation workflows, improves document conversion, and includes reliability and compatibility fixes.

Below are the notable updates in this release.

PowerPoint templating

The Office templater now supports PowerPoint (.pptx) templates with placeholders, loops, conditionals, tables, and images.

PDF annotation workflows

This release adds Instant JSON export and enables change tracking for Instant JSON exports by default. It also supports conversion between Instant JSON and GdPicture Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) annotations. PDF/UA conversion also now preserves image alternate text (descriptions).

Document conversion and extraction

PDF-to-Markdown conversion is faster, and heuristic PDF layout extraction improves. Office conversion updates include better DOCX line spacing and ODT page dimensions, along with rendering of Word barcode fields and ODT form controls. Fixes cover ODT table headers and numbered-paragraph spacing. This release also fixes several document-loading and conversion errors, including an issue with MSG files that use custom email message classes.

Compatibility and reliability

The GdPicture.NET.Toolkit NuGet package now includes native runtime dependencies for .NET Framework 4.6.2. PDF merging also handles empty embedded files correctly.
