Nutrient .NET SDK 14.4.2 is a patch release focused on Markdown export, Vision API extraction, Office conversion, and reliability improvements.

Markdown export and conversion

14.4.2 introduces expanded Markdown workflows across both conversion and extraction, including:

  • Direct DOCX-to-Markdown conversion.
  • Markdown export format for Vision API content extraction.
  • New image export modes and inline formatting controls for Markdown and HTML output.
  • Implicit conversion support for exporting non-PDF documents to Markdown and HTML formats.

Vision API improvements

This release improves Vision API quality and performance, including:

  • Word-level detection and bounding boxes for handwritten text.
  • Better heading and table detection.
  • Faster JSON export on large multipage documents.
  • Improved text extraction accuracy on degraded scans through refined vision language model–optical character recognition (VLM-OCR) fusion heuristics.

Office, PDF, and security updates

14.4.2 also includes:

  • Support for flat Open Packaging Conventions (OPC) PowerPoint and Word documents.
  • Improved rendering of text shadow and outline effects in Word documents.
  • Improved PDF metadata handling and validation.
  • Improved PDF/A conversion stability.
  • A fix for PDF signing failures on Windows 11 under .NET Framework.
  • An OpenMcdf upgrade to 3.1.3 to address the denial-of-service vulnerability CVE-2026-41511 when parsing crafted MSG files.
