Frequently asked questions

What is a Nutrient SDK component?

A component is a self-contained, embeddable capability — like a PDF viewer, annotation layer, or digital signature workflow — that you add to your application via a clean API. Components are composable: Pick the ones you need; combine them in the same app; and deploy them client-side, server-side, or both. You don’t take the whole platform; you take what your app requires.

Can I use a single component without the full SDK?

Yes. Each component is independently licensable. If you only need Digital Signatures or Redaction, you license just those. Components are also designed to work together — you can add more later without refactoring your integration.

Can I combine multiple components in one application?

Yes, and that’s the intended model. A common combination is Viewer + Annotations + Digital Signatures for a document review workflow, or Document Editor + PDF Generation for a document creation pipeline. All components share the same API surface and deployment model, so combining them adds no extra overhead.

Which platforms do the components run on?

Components are available across Web (JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue), iOS, and Android, as well as server-side via Document Engine. Not every component is available on every platform — check the individual component pages for platform coverage. The deployment options page covers all models.

How are components priced?

Pricing is component-based — you pay for the components you use, scaled by user count. Volume and multicomponent discounts are available. See the SDK pricing page or contact Sales for a quote.
