Nutrient iOS SDK 26.8 release notes
RSS1 May 2026
Nutrient iOS SDK 26.8 continues our work to improve responsiveness in demanding document workflows, helping keep UI interactions responsive while saving changes in complex files such as building plans.
This release also improves redaction stability, performance for documents with large content streams, Instant annotation ordering, and rendering reliability. For details, see the changelog.
Migration notes
Automatic saving now uses background saving by default when file coordination is enabled, which is the default setup for documents opened from local file URLs. Review using automatic saving safely before upgrading if your app disables file coordination globally, creates documents with non-coordinated data providers, or creates multiple independent Document instances for the same writable file. The guide covers recommended setup, coordinated file access, and safe document reuse patterns.
Looking ahead
We’ll drop support for iOS 16 and macOS 13 in Nutrient iOS SDK 26.9 in May 2026. We’ve extended support for iOS 16 and macOS 13 beyond our usual support window. If your app still supports these versions, now is a good time to plan that transition. See the version support guide for details.
