Configure the onboarding tour

The onboarding tour provides an interactive guided experience to help users learn about key features and navigation in Nutrient Workflow. The tour creates a step-by-step walkthrough of the interface.

Enabling the onboarding tour

To enable or disable the onboarding tour:

  • Navigate to the Settings icon in the upper-right corner and click System Settings.
  • Click ShowWelcomeDialog > Edit icon in the System Settings table.

You must have administrator access to modify System Settings.

ShowWelcomeDialog setting

The ShowWelcomeDialog setting controls whether users see the welcome dialog popup when they log in. This dialog gives users the option to start the interactive product tour or skip it.

Setting values

  • false (default) — The welcome dialog is disabled. Users won’t see the tour prompt.
  • true — The welcome dialog is enabled. Eligible users will see the tour prompt on their next login.

Choosing who sees the tour

When you change the ShowWelcomeDialog setting from false to true, a dialog appears asking you to choose which users should see the tour.

  • New users only (Recommended) — This option marks all existing users as having completed the tour, so only newly created users will see the welcome dialog. This prevents disruption for users who are already familiar with the system. You can also view the count of existing users who will be skipped. For example: 123 existing users will be skipped.
  • All users — This option shows the welcome dialog to everyone who has not yet completed or skipped the tour, including all existing users who haven’t seen it before. On their next login, any user who hasn’t completed the tour will see the welcome dialog.

User experience

When the ShowWelcomeDialog setting is enabled (set to true):

  1. Eligible users see a welcome dialog when they log in.
  2. The dialog displays “Welcome to Nutrient Workflow! Let us show you around.”.
  3. Users can choose to:
    • START TOUR — Launches the interactive product tour.
    • SKIP TOUR — Dismisses the dialog and marks the tour as skipped (won’t show again).

Taking the tour later

Users can restart the tour at any time by clicking the Help (?) icon in the top navigation bar and selecting the Take a Tour option, even if they initially skipped it.

Technical details

  • The tour completion status is stored per user in their preferences.
  • Once a user completes or skips the tour, they won’t see the welcome dialog again automatically.
  • The setting can be toggled on and off at any time.
  • When re-enabling the setting after disabling it, you’ll again be prompted to choose between New users only or All users.
  • The system automatically tracks which users have and haven’t seen the tour.
